In November 2017 I held a fundraiser at my home for the Save the Children foundation. I raised a total of $400 to buy chicks ($25), art materials and musical instruments ($30), ducks ($35), a pig ($50), bees ($60) and a cow ($200). (The funds were matched by Johnson & Johnson, bringing the total to $800.)
Through efforts at my studio and personal donations, I have been able to:
donate $400 to Life Is Good No Matter What (an area charity which helps provide "cherished" experiences for adults with Stage 4 cancer) through efforts at my studio and direct donations
donate $50 for the Human Rights campaign
coordinate efforts to donate 1,200+ knitted and crocheted rectangles to Warm Up Akron! and 75+ scarves for children in area homeless shelters
paint a Soap Box Derby car which was used in the opening ceremonies at the Gay Games 2014
donate original art to local charity auctions
raise $1,000 for The Water Project (which helped rehabilitate a well in Kenya)
raise $380 for the All-American Soap Box Derby (to pay for two children to attend a week-long camp in summer of June 2014) through the sales of specially designed ornaments
knit scarves and/or hats for the Battered Women's Shelter and Akron Snow Angels and rectangles to Warm Up Akron!
